I am a qualified counsellor and supervisor with experience of working both in private practice and on a voluntary basis for a national charity. Passionate about offering you a warm non-judgmental, safe space to explore your feelings and difficulties. To think and talk about anything which may feel confusing, uncomfortable, painful, traumatic or distressing. I understand that it may not always be easy to talk about what is happening for you at first, but I will seek to support and help you work through it and alleviate your distress. Our sessions become a shared exploration of what is troubling you, helping you to unravel your difficulties and seeking ways to move forward. To gain greater understanding of yourself and what is happening and find solutions that work for you. Helping you get in touch with your inner resources and strength, enabling you to manage life more effectively, feel more in control and facilitate your personal growth and healing. I am very happy to work with a you on a whole range of issues from mental health difficulties, anxiety depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, anger, self-harm, suicide, drugs and alcohol, divorce, family issues, pregnancy, to phobias, work-related stress, bullying, discrimination, and carer support, cancer and bereavement.
I also hold a Bachelor of Education honours degree and have many years teaching experience and in addition experience of working with vulnerable young people with learning difficulties. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow its Ethical Framework for good practice. I hold a Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision and mainly use Paige and Woskett's model of supervision although integrate others such as Hawkins and Shohet. |
